Whisker Biscuit
Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars

The Whisker Biscuit (WB) has a couple positive attributes. They are as follows:

  • Very quiet
  • Arrow stability while stocking deer
Now for the downside:
  • Tears vanes up quickly. After only a few shots the vanes of the arrows you are shooting will warp and eventually begin to separate from the shaft of the arrow making the arrow useless for target practice or hunting. I shot the WB for over a month and every arrow that I used lost it's vanes. I don't know about you but I can't afford to waste $50 a week on new arrows when I don't have too.
  • When this rest gets wet... it is unacceptably loud.
I can not recommend this rest to anyone at$5 let alone $65. I may mention that I use carbon arrows with rubber vanes. I am unsure as to how fletchings (feathers) would preform. It would seem to me that it is probably worse.

Blessings,
Sean

Interesting - I've shot with a whisker biscuit for years and love it. I'll admit it does give the fletchings a beating, but until a better product comes along, I'll still love this rest. I do my own fletching, so it isn't very expensive - just replace the fletching every now and then. I have seen just one rest that I would like to try that has the same idea as the whisker biscuit but wouldn't ruin the fletchings, and I want to give it a whirl sometime. Until then, I'll keep shooting the biscuit!

Thanks Tom. If a person is willing and able to refletch or revain their arrows the rest would be just about perfect. It is very accurate and requires little maintenance once it is setup.

The WB is much quieter when shooting than my dropaway rest. However, when drawing the bow in the rain almost any rest (except the Quicktunes)are quieter.

I prefer the drop arrow rest. I will have to give this a try.
